Seven Building Blocks For Success
Personal development whether it be improving self-awareness, improving self-knowledge, building or renewing identity, developing strengths or talents, identifying or improving potential or enhancing the quality of lifestyle by realizing dreams and fulfilling aspirations, needs to have core building blocks upon which to build.
Those core principles or building blocks are:
Truth
By subscribing to the core principle of truth you can allow yourself to accept the reality of the world and of yourself. A life free from falsehood and denial is the foundation upon which personal development can begin to take root.
The Real Truth
When we talk about the truth in this context we are talking about truth in the sense of being truthful to one’s self.
All real personal growth must start with a commitment to honesty.
For without honesty and a commitment to the truth then actually there is nowhere to go.
Just around and around in circles, in the same way that one lie leads to another.
But when truth becomes a fundamental principle of your life then real progress can be made.
In fact for many people a commitment to truth and honesty, no matter what the cost, can be a liberating and fulfilling undertaking in it’s own right.
One that releases them from many of their inherent blocks and obstacles to self fulfillment.
The saying ‘The truth will set you free’ is in fact very true. Because when we are truthful to ourselves we are in touch with our own reality.
For it is only when we are able to know ourselves, to ‘love ourselves’ that we are in a position to even attempt to ‘love our neighbor’.
Truth can indeed be a liberating force for good and help to guide you on your journey to find your true life purpose.
To motivate and energize you to seek out the fundamental building blocks of life such as financial and relationship stability, emotional and physical health and most important of all in finding what you love to do the most.
What you were sent here to do.
Commit to the truth and begin to experience the deep satisfaction that you are on the road to the life you always knew you were meant to live and the kind of lifestyle that you have always sought.
Love
There are many types of love but when you are able to accept yourself, to love yourself, only then can you begin to connect and love others in the true sense of the word.
The Greatest Love Of All
Love is the emotional feelings we experience when we have a strong positive attachment and affection for something.
There are many types of love such as romantic love, familial love, platonic love etc. etc. but
above all else and perhaps a prerequisite to be able to truly feel any other form of love is self love.
The words ‘ learning to love yourself, it is the greatest love of all’ by Whitney Houston is very true.
Self love is the ability to truly accept ourselves unconditionally for all that we are, be that good or bad. It is a positive feeling that despite our short comings, we are valuable.
Valuable to ourselves as a unique individual and to others as well.
All self confidence stems from self love and our acceptance of ourselves.
Accepting Yourself
Accepting ourselves can sometimes be one of the hardest things to do. We are filled with mixed emotions about who we are and how we fit into life. Filled with often conflicting and negative images and views about ourselves we struggle to find meaning and worth.
Life has a way of taking our innocent and pure vision of ourselves and corrupting and damaging that picture till we are no longer able to see our true valuable self in the mirror.
When we are able to set aside prejudices and judgments and can accept ourselves for exactly who and what we are, then we are able to finally begin the process of unconditional self evaluation. To learn to love ourselves.
Loving Yourself
Because loving ourselves is unconditional. That’s the secret. There is no need for excuses or apologies or anything else for that matter.
All that is needed is pure acceptance.
That can actually be so easy that sometimes people miss the wood for the trees. All you have to do to love yourself is accept yourself. How hard can that be.
The irony is that when we release ourselves from guilt is when we are best able to make changes.
Whilst we are trapped in fear and guilt we immobilized and unable to affect any great change in our lives. Let go and you will experience a very profound release form negative pressures.
Connecting
And when we have let go. When we have fully accepted ourselves. Rid ourselves of guilt and fear we are then in a position to extend our love to others.
To open up our hearts to the world and to other people and to accept them also. To release them from the same guilt and fear and so better make them able to follow us and make the changes that they require.
Let go today. Just do it. Its easy. Like riding a bicycle. Just keep forward motion and soon it will be second nature.
Power
True power comes from within and when you can tap into this you will be able to tap into the internal reservoir of discipline and motivation needed to create all your hearts desires.
True Power
True power comes from within.
It is the ability to deliberately and consciously draw on the internal resource you have within you to create your own life and your own world.
To consciously make decisions and actions which spill over into the reality of the world and cultivate the environment to provide you with the life of your choosing.
The Power Switch
The power is there, lying dormant waiting for you. You need only accept that this power is there and waiting for you to push the button and switch the power on in your life. It is that simple.
Wielding Power
The power you have within IS powerful and can be used for good or for bad.
This is dependent on how you wish to use it.
Although, realizing and finding this power is sometimes not so easy, it is the wielding of this power that is the difficult part.
When you realize and experience this power for the first time it is intoxicating and if not married with the other building blocks can quickly lead to your own downfall.
Responsibility
With this power comes responsibility. The responsibility that you make your own fate.
Notwithstanding that there are influences that are not within your control, you have to accept that the ultimate power to control how you react to these external influences is solely and purely your own.
To accept this is a big burden or a liberating force for good.
To know that the responsibility is all yours is perhaps the greatest power of all.
Oneness
Oneness is the ability to recognize that we are all connected and that this connection is natural.
True Oneness
Oneness is knowing.
Knowing that you are and always have been connected to everything else.
It is a state of mind.
It has no explicit aim or target.
It is just a feeling of being connected to everyone and everything.
All at the same time.
It is akin to a pure unconditional love. Directed at all.
Natural Connectiveness
From the time we are born we are encouraged and even coerced into believing that we should be separate and distinct from all else on this earth.
Although, this is somewhat true and has its merits, it is only in realizing that we are in fact all connected at a very deep level and that this connectedness is actually a joy rather than a burden.
None of us can exist without another and ultimately we are all in the same boat of life.
Whether we sink or swim is up to us all and down to the individual decisions we all make to either be as one or not.
Choosing To Connect
It is our choice to connect or not. To recognize and decide to embrace this concept as well as its reality.
The decision to do so unfolds a greater reality than we can ever experience on our own.
Oneness is the ability to recognize that we are all connected and that this connectedness is natural.
Authority
Authority is the ability to take charge of your life and to make the necessary decisions based on the other principles for the best outcomes.
Personal Authority
Personal authority is taking charge of your life and being prepared to make the necessary decisions when they arise.
Essentially this means being true to oneself.
True to your inner beliefs and values with the courage to act on them even if they differ from the everyday popular view.
To live our life in the world as we choose to live.
Exercise Your Innate Authority
When you have found yourself and become one with the world and all that is within then it is time to stand up for your self and to base your decisions, actions and behavior on your inner guides and beliefs.
Mind Sovereignty
You are the only true authority in your life and it is you who must make all the decisions.
There is no one else who can tell you how to live your life.
You and you alone are in command.
You are the guardian of your mind and what we think we become.
Threats more often than not come from within rather than from without.
Guard your mind as you would guard your most prized possession.
You are the sovereign of your own mind – the King is dead, long live the King!
Courage
It takes courage to follow your beliefs and convictions, especially in the face of fear and ridicule. Courage is the ability to stick to your guns even in the face of adversity.
Fortune favours the brave
It takes courage to follow your beliefs and convictions, especially in the face of fear and ridicule.
Courage is the ability to stick to your guns even in the face of adversity.
Courage
The Universe seems to reward the courageous and value the brave.
In all of man’s endeavors you will find that the men who achieved the most were also the most brave and courageous.
Making Your Dream Come True
To make your dreams come true you need courage.
The courage firstly to be simply yourself.
Then the courage to go on when there seems nothing more can be done.
The courage to believe in your dreams and the courage to do whatever is necessary to make them come true even when others advise otherwise.
The courage to follow your instincts and to attempt what has not been done before.
And finally you need the courage to actually take the actions that are required along the way to achieve your dream.
Intelligence
Intelligence is the ability to see how all this fits together and is the unity of all of the above into a cohesive and synergistic whole.
Using the above core building blocks you can be equipped with the foundation for building a better you. Become conscious of your decisions for personal development and start your journey to a new world.
Personal Intelligence
Intelligence is difficult to define.
It can be used to mean very many different things such as the ability to solve problems, to reason, to comprehend and to think intellectually etc. etc.
But here we are using it in the sense of being intelligent enough to see how the basic core building blocks of personal development come together to create a synergistic whole.
Once the building blocks – the foundations are put in place then real personal development can take place.
Bringing yourself into alignment with the core fundamental truths and building blocks of personal development allowing them to guide your life IS intelligent.
Living Intelligently
Your behavior is based on values and attitudes which are in turn based on your beliefs and your intelligence.
Intelligence flows from your perception of the world, your thought process about the world and then in your actions based on your findings.
By aligning yourself with the core building blocks of personal development you exercise your choice and your intelligence.
This alignment doesn’t happen by accident.
It happens by choice – conscious intelligent choice.
Take Responsibility
Learn to take full responsibility for your health, career, finances, relationships, emotions, habits and beliefs.
For the first time your ‘map’ of the world and those in it will be ‘real’ and you can make adjustments that are valid and beneficial based on a solid groundwork and underpinning.
Begin to live more consciously and courageously, facing problems with the knowledge that you can and will solve them.
When these core building blocks are at the center of your life you can live a harmonious life filled with effectiveness and balance. The balance of thoughts, feelings and actions that ultimately lead to ‘real’ success.
Real success is discovering your true passion and life’s purpose. A purpose which motivates and inspires you to be energized in finding true abundance. For true abundance is found in the heart and allows you to shed all negativity and reach for the stars by building networks of loving support and by offering your unique and genuine contribution to the world and humanity.
Experience, perhaps for the first time, your true worth as the sacred being you are.
